Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about VineQR.
VineQR is an online tool for wine producers that allows creating digital e-labels with QR codes. Producers can generate QR codes containing a nutritional table, an ingredient list and recycling information.
The e-label contains a nutritional table, an ingredient list, and optional packaging recycling information.
All this information is available by scanning the QR code placed on the physical wine label.
Yes, you can edit the information related to the QR code at any time through our online tool. After editing, the QR code remains the same, but its content will be updated.
E-labels can be displayed in 24 European Union languages, facilitating international sales.
The label limit in the subscription plan applies only to active (public) e-labels.
Archived labels are not public and do not count towards the label limit in the plan. Users can archive and reactivate labels at any time within the available limit.
Archiving allows you to hide an e-label and free up space within the label limit of the subscription plan.
Archived labels are not public and do not count towards the label limit. Users can reactivate archived labels at any time.
The choice of plan depends on the total number of e-labels that need to be active at a given time.
Example:
In the first year, the winery introduces 4 new wines for sale – 4 active e-labels are needed, which corresponds to the Mini plan.
In the second year, the winery introduces another 4 wines, and the previous ones are still available for sale – a total of 8 active e-labels, so the Medium plan is appropriate.
In the third year, another 4 wines are added, making a total of 12 active e-labels. In this situation, the Medium plan becomes insufficient and it is necessary to switch to the Large plan.
In subsequent years, when older labels no longer need to be available, the user can archive them. Archived labels do not count towards the limit, so the number of active e-labels can stabilize, and the subscription plan always corresponds to the actual needs of the winery.
QR codes work as long as the user's subscription is active.
After the subscription expires, access to e-labels may be restricted. QR codes can be reactivated after renewing the subscription.
According to Article 12 of the EU Food Information Regulation, consumers must have easy access to mandatory product information for the period during which the product remains suitable for consumption under normal storage conditions.
This means that e-labels accessible via QR code should remain available for at least the expected shelf life of the wine. The producer is responsible for the accuracy of the information and any changes to the e-label during this time, just as they would be for a physical label.
After creating the e-label, you can download the QR code (in PNG, PDF, or SVG format) and provide it to a graphic designer or printing house.
The QR code should be placed on the physical label in a manner compliant with applicable EU regulations.
